CLASSICAL MECHANICS

Course description

Classical mechanics deals with the study of physical laws of bodies such as their position, motion, types and causes of motion. It is refered to as 'classical' due to the fact that it was developed in the ancient times by early philosophers and mathematicians by means of trying to understand nature. From 16th and beyond, we begin to see a more formal approach to the subject through experimentations and constructions of mathematical models by the likes of Galileo Galilei, Isaac Newton, Gottfried von Leibniz, Hendrik Lorentz and many others.
Classical mechanics is by far the most applicable branch of physics in fields of engineering such as civil and mechanical engineering.
