molecular physics

Course description

Molecular physics studies the properties of matter on the basis of it's internal(molecular) structure. Through the years physicists have been studying the behavior of matter and it's properties under the influence of external factors(for example heat, electric or magnetic field), the phenomena of processes such as changing of matter from one state to another and so forth. One of the first formulated theories in this field was the kinetic theory of gases by James Clark Maxwell, Ludvig Boltzmann and Josiah Gibbs. Other prominent scientists in this field include Pierre Simon de Laplace, F. Gauss, Van de Vaal and many others.

In general, this course gives an account of the macroscopic(visible to naked eye) properties of matter based on it's microscopic(molecular) structure.
