THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL PHYSICS

Courses

The department of general physics offers the following courses:

-
Classical mechanics
-
Molecular physics
-
Electricity and magnetism
-
Optics
-
Atomic physics
-
Nuclear and particle physics

These courses give the learner a general understanding of physics and an overview of it's branches/fields. These courses form the curriculum for non physics majors( i.e. engineers, chemists, biologists, computer science students and so on) in most universities and colleges. Therefore, it's very important that the learner grasps the basic concepts in each of these courses. We wouldn't want our countries to have incompetent engineers and scientists now, would we?
Physics majors likewise also need to critically grasp the concepts in these courses in order to lay solid foundation for further and more advanced material in future.
